i stopped by the amazing place at 104 congo st. and was rocked by the hospitality of eileen and pat, who treated me to their patented slaw dog and a red stripe to send me on my way to the j-line and an awaiting castro street fair.
wotta dog! a mix of cool slaw and fresh peppers so hot i almost downed my beer in one gulp, it was as delightful, delovely and delish as its servers. they were pretty psyched at the turnout – locals who filled the sun-drenched deck with cute kids, real dogs and friendly chat.
“this is exactly why we did this!” eileen said, as i ruthlessly promoted the herald and happily encountered a couple of readers. i need business cards, dammit.
the gals have tweeted that they’ll be doing it again soon, this time with figs in the recipe. yum! good work, ladies, can’t wait for more slaw dogs in the sun.
